An Iranian man who hadn't bathed in over 60 years passed on Sunday at 94, as per reports

The man was famous to his community as Amou haji or Uncle haji, an Iranian term for tenderness for an older person

As per reports, Haji cited "emotional setbacks in his youth" as a primary reason for not bathing

Haji was from the southern province of Fars, bathed for the first time many months back, according to IRNA, via BBC

According to BBC, Haji was afraid he'd get sick if he used soap and water

IRNA also reported that years of not bathing left Haji with skin coated in "soot and pus."

His favorite meal was a porcupine, which he kept between a hole in the ground and a brick shack built by local people

Haji did not have any known relatives, though the local people were taken care of him

His fame spread further after he became a web sensation for smoking a modest bunch of cigarettes all at once
